Patricia Evelyn Cromer

August 16, 1940 — January 5, 2021

Patricia Evelyn Cromer, a resident of Columbus, GA since 1991, was born in Starke, FL, August 16, 1940. She died on January 5, 2021 at the age of 80. Patricia had degrees from The University of Florida and Technologico de Monterrey, Mexico. She spent most of her life as an elementary teacher and was briefly a manager of a Savings and Loan Association.  Patricia was a wonderful person with vast talents, excelling at all kinds of hobbies, sewing, carpentry, gardening, cake decorating, and beading. All who have known her will sorely miss her loving care and fond support.

Patricia is survived by her sister, Caroline Bolar of Alaska; her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Cromer, M.D. of Boston; her two lovely daughters, Martha (Stephen) Bartenhagen and Catherine (Frank) Rickerl of Iowa; her special grandchildren total five; Clarence, Patrick, and Virginia Bartenhagen and Cecilia and James Rickerl. A niece and nephew also survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Foster Cromer, Jr.; her in-laws, James Foster and Virginia (Sutton) Cromer, Sr.; her parents Frederick James and Justine Martha (Rutledge) Pellum, Sr.; and her brother, Frederick James Pellum, Jr.

A private funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 beginning at 10:00 a.m. The service will be livestreamed on the Vance Brooks Funeral Home Facebook page.

Memorials may be directed to Holy Name Parish, and to Rescue Mission, both of Columbus.
