Mrs. Paula Lynn Mcfarland

Paula Lynn Ried McFarland, 56, of Pine Mountain, Georgia, passed away in her home on Thursday February 3, 2022 after a well fought four year battle with breast cancer. In her last days, she was surrounded by family and friends, not complaining once about the pain she endured.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday February 7, 2022 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia. Interment will follow at Hamilton Cemetery in Hamilton, Georgia.
Paula was born December 19, 1965 in Columbus, GA to Carol Lynn Hartman Ried and the late Paul James Ried. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed numerous opportunities to serve. Paula enjoyed going to the theater, music concerts and exploring old homes, as well as working puzzles and playing games. Her love for the world God created inspired her to travel and experience nature, bringing that love of all living things home to care for indoor plants, strays and her family pets.
Paula had a very giving heart and selflessly served others throughout her life. She worked as a teacher’s aide and early in life accepted the call to serve a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sacramento, California. Paula’s greatest passion was taking care of her family. This beautiful mother, daughter and sister will be greatly missed, but she will always be honored with the sweetest of memories.
Survivors, other than her mother, include her husband, Kenneth Edward McFarland of Pine Mountain, GA, sons, Terry Joseph McFarland of Atlanta, GA and Matthew Aaron McFarland of Pine Mountain, GA, and a brother, James Aaron Ried of Columbus, GA.
In lieu of flowers, Paula has asked that contributions be made to the Harris County Humane Society.
