Columbus, Georgia- Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. Mrs. Paulette Jeannine Garcia, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Garcia was born on December 17, 1935 to the late Henri R. and Claire M. Leroy in Euville (Meuse), France. She was fluent in French, Spanish and English. Mrs. Garcia spent 25 years in France until moving permanently to the United States with her husband. Her time after that was spent caring for her husband and five children. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, MAC.mAre (grandmother) and friend.

Other than her parents, Mrs. Garcia was preceded in death by one son Anthony RenA Garcia; and two brothers, Leon Leroy and Andre Leroy.

Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Antonio Garcia of Columbus, Georgia; sister, Marie Segaud of Euville, France; daughter, Olga (Yogi) I. Hall and husband Ricky Hall of Columbus, Georgia; daughter, Sophie P. Garcia of Phenix City, Alabama; son RenA A. Garcia and wife Lisa Garcia of Columbus, Georgia; son Danny D. Garcia and his girlfriend Traci Sellers of Phenix City, Alabama; granddaughter Christina J. Kees and husband Elliott Kees of Columbus, Georgia; granddaughter Summer R. Garcia of Columbus, Georgia; step-grandson Jayson Leatherland of Columbus, Georgia; other family Ashlee Turner, her husband Ryan Turner and their two children- Kynzlee and Kolby – all of Phenix City, Alabama; several nieces and nephews and a host of lifetime friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30, on Wednesday, February, 19, 2014 at Vance-Brooks Chapel in Columbus, Georgia. Interment to follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Alabama.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, from 6-8 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus, Georgia

The family would like to thank Mrs. Garcia's beloved caregiver, Rena Green and Columbus Hospice for their dedication, professionalism, devoted time, support and compassion that was shown to her and also the entire family.
