Pearlie "Peewee" King

Pearlie “PeeWee” King, 79, of Pittsview, AL, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm EDT, on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Vance Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Steve Vann officiating. Interment will be held at Pittsview Cemetery and the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm EDT at the funeral home.

Pee Wee was born on February 29, 1936, in Barbour County, the son of the late John Allen King and Lillie Dockery King. He worked maintenance for the Russell County School System and was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Cottonton, AL.

Other than his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters, five brothers, a son, Charles Mitchell King and grandson, Kevin Hartgrove.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sue King of Pittsview, AL; four daughters, Marsha Hartgrove of Pittsview, AL, Donna Cannon, husband James of Phenix City, AL, Rosemary Powell, husband Jerry of Phenix City, AL, and Tammy Lynn King of Smiths Station, AL; two sons, Pete King, wife Patricia of Daphne, AL and Robert Earl King of Seale, AL; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, extended family members and many caring friends.
