Mrs. Peggie Jo Henderson

Mrs. Peggie Jo Henderson, 86, of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday, October 28 2021 at her residence.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am EST on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Keith Badowski officiating.  The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL.

Mrs. Henderson was born September 20, 1935, daughter of the late Vernon E. Lane, Sr. and Mable Dean Lane.  She retired after 30 years of service with Phenix City Parks and Recreation.  Mrs. Henderson was a Shrinet for many years, while her husband Luke was serving in the Shriners.  She enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family.  Mrs. Henderson was a long time member of Epworth United Methodist Church.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelley Henderson; her husband, Luke Henderson; four sisters, Alice England, Hyburnia Merrell, Linda Love and Betsy Terrell; and three brothers, Vernon E. Lane, Jr., Roy Lane and John Lane.

She is survived by two sons, Johnny Henderson of Phenix City, AL and Michael Henderson of Sarasota, FL; two grandchildren, Ryan Henderson of Columbus, GA and Grace Henderson of Ashville, NC; one great-grandson, Gideon Henderson;  several nieces, nephews and extended family.
