Peggy Chandler

Peggy Chandler, 87, of Phenix City, AL, passed away Monday at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm EST, on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Vance Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Watson McKemie officiating. A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 pm EST, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Chandler was born on December 4, 1930, in Cullman, AL daughter of the late Howard Lee Hamilton and Mona Elna Tenkell Hamilton.  She retired from Columbus Carpet Mill with over 30 years of service.  Mrs. Chandler enjoyed growing flowers and her cat.

Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert David Chandler.

She is survived by one daughter, Dianne Niles and husband Gary of Phenix City, AL; two sons, Morris Chandler and wife Janet of Phenix City, AL and Vic Chandler and wife Sherry of Smiths Station, AL; five grandchildren, Carrie, Alicia, Kelly, Matthew and Corey; 7 great-grandchildren; many other extended family as and caring friends.
