Phyllis Carol Wilkinson

Phyllis Carol Wilkinson, 83, of Phenix City, AL, formerly of Hereford, AZ died Wednesday, June 23, 2021, while at Columbus Hospice House, Columbus, GA.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM till 3:00 PM (EST) on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. A private interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Wilkinson was born June 21, 1938, in Grand Junction, CO daughter of the late Jack Bennet Boyington and Edwyna Shupe Boyington. She enjoyed embroidery, often making beautiful pieces for her family and friends. Ms. Carol was always smiling and caring for others around her. This enabled her to make numerous friends all around the country as she traveled with her family. We will remember her as a loving and caring mother, who taught her daughter, Lynda, the necessary and important life skills she needed. She will also be remembered for being a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, “great” grandmother and aunt. Ms. Carol was also a strong woman who was at the same time gentle and compassionate. Her influence on our lives will continue to impact us and the generations to come as we share her story with them.
Mrs. Wilkinson was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Gwen Faulk and Jacqueline Gail Smith.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynda Wilkinson, Sierra Vista, AZ; sister, Twila McCormick and brother-in-law, Don of Phenix City, AL; four grandchildren, Alysia Avechuco, Aleyda Avechuco, Amaya Wilkinson and Elisha Avechuco; one great-grandchild, Ozias Ortega; Lynda’s dad, James “Jim” Wilkinson; several nieces, nephews and close friends.
