Ralph "Harris" H. Henderson, Sr.

Ralph “Harris” Henderson, Sr., of Smiths Station, AL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January, 10, 2017 in the comfort of his home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EST Friday, January 13, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with  his son, Rev. Ralph H. Henderson, Jr. officiating.  A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.

Mr. Henderson was born March 16, 1929 in Lee County, AL to the late Ralph Henderson and Florence Wilder Henderson.  He was self-employed and retired as a locksmith.  He was a member of Wilson Williams Mason Lodge and the Gideon’s International.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending quality time with all his great grandchildren.  He was a member of Oswichee Baptist Church in Fort Mitchell.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Harvey Henderson, and two sisters.

He is survived by his daughter, Martha Henderson Ellis and husband Art of Alpharetta, GA, and son, Ralph H. Henderson, Jr. and wife Kathy of Smiths Station, AL, (4) grandchildren, Tripp Henderson (Angie), Heather Blain (David), Adam Ellis (Jenna), and Seth Ellis (Emily), (8) great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
