Mr. Ralph Jackson Helms

Mr. Ralph Jackson Helms, 94, of Phenix City, AL died Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Phenix City Health Care in Phenix City, AL.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, January 24, 2022 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Grant Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home

Mr. Helms was born January 6, 1928 in Skipperville, AL son of the late Walter Helms and Nora Grice Helms.  He retired after 37 years of service as a Supervisor at Swift Textiles.  Mr. Helms enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, as well as, spending time with his family.  He was a long time member of Epworth United Methodist Church.

Other than his parents, Mr. Helms was preceded in death by his wife, Opie Lee Tew Helms; a brother, Marvette Helms and two sisters; Mattie Lou English and Bernice Helms.

Survivors include his daughter, Robin C. Bohren and husband Korey of Ft. Mitchell, AL; a sister, Cornelia Jordan of Rowlett, TX; grandchildren, Jason Carpenter (Beth), Kelli Nicole Rhodes and Lindsey Gunderson (Cameron);  great-grandchildren, Dalton G. Rhodes, Dylan C. Carpenter, Kanon Gunderson, Emalynn Gunderson, Steven Knight and Jacob Knight; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
