Ralph Simmons

Ralph Simmons, 82, of Phenix City, AL passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 9:30 am EDT, on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Vance Memorial Chapel with Pastor Eric Estes officiating. Burial will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 until 8 at Vance Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Simmons was born on October 3, 1932, in Troy, AL the son of the late Dewey Simmons and Claudia Sanders Simmons. He proudly served his country in the Army for over 20 years. He also enjoyed working with the Russell County Sheriff's Department from which he also retired. He is preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Galia Schultze Simmons and 8 siblings.

He is survived by a daughter, Connie Simmons Williams(Billy Wayne) of Phenix City; 2 sons, Ricky Simmons(Tammy) of Phenix City and Ralph B. Simmons(Tara) of Phenix City; sister, Ruth Simmons Fuller of Jackson, GA; grandchildren, Maria Jones, Jeremy Williams, Nathan Williams, Alan Murley, Jessica Gibson, Brian Simmons, Thomas Simmons and Ambria Simmons; great-grandchildren, Airam Jones, Aidan Jones, Devin Murley, Max Gibson, Paisleigh Simmons and Luke Simmons; several nieces, nephews and other extended family.
