Ramona Oakes Johnson

Ramona Oakes Johnson, 59, of Phenix City, AL passed away after a long illness on Sunday, January 24, 2016 in the comfort of her home while surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EST Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Sammy Turner and Chaplain Mario Coneway officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens and the family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.  Serving as pallbearers are Kenneth Johnson, Lamar Riley, Justin Dudley, Bryan Ezell, Donovyn Johnson, and Tim Frazier.

Ramona was born April 17, 1956 in Troy, AL to the Susie Langston Oakes and the late J P Oakes.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family.  She enjoyed church, fishing, cooking, and family time.  She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Pine Mountain, GA.

She is survived by her mother, Susie Langston Oakes, her loving and devoted husband of 40 years, Donald Johnson, daughter, Jennifer Johnson (Tim Frazier), son Steven Johnson and wife Kelly, one sister, Penny Ezell (Tina Hurst), three grandchildren, Payton Johnson, Donovyn Johnson, Hannah Dudley, a nephew, Bryan Ezell, numerous other loving family members, and many caring friends.  Online condolences may be made at www.vancememorialchapel.net
