Henry Randall “Randy” Powers, 73, of Pine Mountain Valley, GA and formerly of Phenix City, AL passed away Friday afternoon, April 19, 2024, at Piedmont Hospital Northside in Columbus, GA surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EDT on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at River of Life Church in Phenix City with Pastor Randy Comer and Pastor Grant Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm EDT at the Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City.
Randy was born August 22, 1950, in Phenix City, AL, son of the late Henry Thomas Powers, Jr. and Bessie Newsome Powers. He was employed with Southern Company for 32 years and retired from Southern Power at Plant Franklin in Smiths Station, Alabama. He loved building all sorts of things, tinkering with his woodworking skills, water skiing, boating, the outdoors, and enjoyed helping people, church activities, and fellowship. But his greatest joy was the love he had for all his family, sharing time and his commitment to the simple gifts of life and relationships. He was a man of God and a member of River of Life Church in Phenix City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a very special niece, Misty Powers.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Rosanne Elizabeth Detwiler Powers; three sons, Jason Powers (Holly), Scott Powers (Jenny), and Matt Powers (Dixie); one brother, Larry Powers (Lory); eight grandchildren, Haley, Joshua, Jackson, Paige, Talon, Tatum, Brooks, and Brycen, a niece, Lacey Powers Thomas (Jason); two nephews, Alan Powers, and Dean Powers; numerous other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; extended family; his church family; many caring friends, and his beloved pet dog Buddy that he so adored and loved.
