Raymond Lee Miles

Raymond Lee Miles, Jr. passed away Tuesday February 3, 2015 at Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services are scheduled for, Friday, February 6, 2015 beginning at 1:00 P.M. EST, At Britt David Baptist Church. Reverend Tim Jones and Reverend Clark Standard will be officiating. Interment will conclude at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA, 31907. Raymond Miles was born June 2, 1925 in Columbus, GA son of the late Raymond L. Miles, Sr. and Louise McKoon Miles. Raymond served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He was self-employed and a successful owner of East Alabama Glass Inc. Raymond was a member of the Columbus Exchange Club, and Home Builders Association. Raymond was Baptist by faith and a longtime member at Britt David Baptist Church. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by, sisters, Gwen Malloy and Norma Hendrix; and brother, Marion Miles. Survivors include, his devoted wife of 66 years, Juanita King Miles, of Columbus, GA; daughters, Cynthia Lisle, of Smiths Station, AL, Carol Miles Argo and husband Dennis, of Seale, AL; sons, Thomas “Tommy” Miles and wife Susan, of Columbus, GA, John Miles and wife Teri, of Seale, AL; sisters, Kay Smith and husband Robert, Jan McKenzie and husband Dale; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Watkins, Ryan Nobles, Lee Argo, Blane Argo, Steve Argo, Tom Miles, Brad Miles, Amy Miles, Libby Miles, and Emily Miles; three great grandchildren; Raymond also leaves behind many extended loving family members and caring friends. In lieu of flowers, those so desiring may make a memorial contribution to the Britt David Baptist Church Building Fund, 2801 W Britt David Rd, Columbus, GA, or to Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA.
