Mr. Raymond Mccachren Sr.

Mr. Raymond McCachren, Sr., 77, of Phenix City, AL passed away Friday, February 17, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 am Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home with Pastor Annie Jones officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until 11:30 am, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mr. McCachren was born June 16, 1945 in Astoria, NY, son of the late Charles Herman McCachren, Sr. and Jennie Elvira Seifert McCachren.  He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army.  Mr. McCachren received Purple Heart during his service in Vietnam.  After his tenure in the military, he worked in the tooling department for both Bibb Mill and Lummus.  He enjoyed fishing and Alabama football but above all, he enjoyed spending time with his whole family.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Herman McCachren, Jr. and Billy McCachren; and one sister, Violet Mae Wasserman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn McCachren of Phenix City, AL; two daughters, Angela Daly and husband Jeffery and Shannon McCachren, all of Phenix City, AL; one son, Raymond McCachren, Jr of Phenix City, AL;  a sister, Joan Westover; grandchildren, Christopher Daly, Joshua Daly (Ashely), Hunter Box and Austin Box; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Daly and Lucas; as well as, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
