Raymond Vincent Hemingway, 67, of Phenix City, AL died at Piedmont Columbus Hospital Thursday, July 25, 2019 with his family at his side.
A memorial service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 2:00 PM (EST) in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL.
Mr. Hemingway was born November 07, 1951 in Miami, FL son of the late Harold Hemingway and Julia Zaccagnini Hemingway. He was a proud U. S. Army Veteran. Mr. Hemingway was a roofer by trade, but his passion in life was his family. He was always talking about how proud he was of his grandchildren to everyone. We will miss him, however his patriotism, passion for life, family spirit and wisdom will continue to influence future generations.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Chomo; two daughters, Christina Hemingway (David) and Melissa Hemingway; two sisters, Mimi Upshaw (Joe) and Judy McClung (Wayne); six grandchildren, Bethany, Clarissa, Daleray, Spencer, Hunter and Abbey; two great-grandchildren, Mayson and Brody; mother of his children, Peggy Hemingway; nephew, Michael Sweeney and niece, Sandra Sweeney; two step-daughters, Samantha Williams (Jamison) and April Hathaway (James) four step-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kassidy, Lyla and Abigail; other extended family and friends also survive.
