Rebecca D. Bush

Rebecca Dixon Bush, 89, of Seale, AL passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 in the comfort of her daughter’s home in Pelham, AL.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm CST / 2:00 pm EST Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Hatchechubbee United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hatchechubbee, AL with Rev. Lance Eiland officiating.  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 TO 7:00 pm CST / 6:00 TO 8:00 pm EST at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City.

Ms. Bush was born October 13, 1927 in Hatchechubbee, AL to the late Robert L. Dixon and Lillie Puryear Dixon.  She was retired as a Social Worker for the Russell County Department of Human Resources for 30 years and was a member of the Homemakers Club in Seale. She was a member of Seale United Methodist Church where she enjoyed engaging with all sorts of church activities and served in several capacities of the church.  Other than her parents she is preceded in death by brothers, John R. Dixon and Terrell Dixon.

She is survived by a two daughters, Beverly Butler, husband Gary of Pelham, AL and Cindy Benson of Andalusia, AL; a sister, Virginia Smith, husband Nathan of Hurtsboro, AL; a brother, Don Dixon, wife MayBelle of Hatchechubbee, AL; six grandchildren, Angie Seabolt, husband Jeff, Elizabeth Bachus, husband Warren, Jeremy Butler, wife Janet, Carrie Cherry, husband West, Leslie Riley and Beth Robinson, husband Steven; nine great grandchildren; extended family and many caring friends and church family.
