Rebecca Ellen Sanderlin

Rebecca Ellen Sanderlin, of Columbus, Georgia, sadly passed away surrounded by love in the comfort of her daughter's home on Sunday December 22, 2024. Services for Mrs. Sanderlin will be announced at a later date. She was born on July 1, 1956, in Blowing Rock, North Carolina to parents Johnie Weaver and Ruby Hampton Weaver.

In her free time, Rebecca enjoyed simple pleasures such as fishing and watching football--especially the Saints. Her passion for cooking shone brightly through the delicious meals she prepared, each dish filled with warmth and care, nourishing not just the body but also the bonds that tied her family together.

Rebecca was incredibly selfless, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was a wonderful mother to her children, Pamela Sanderlin and Plummer Jones Sanderlin II, who will forever cherish the countless memories created around their family table. As a grandmother, she brought immense joy to the life of Jeannette Cecilia Downs, nurturing her with unconditional love and wisdom that will remain with her always. Her memory and legacy will forever be held in the hearts of many, including Jeremiah and Joshua Conner who had a special place in her life.

Rebecca is now reunited eternally with those she held dear who have gone before her. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Plummer Jones Sanderlin, beloved grandson Joseph Clayton Downs, brother Tommy Weaver, and her parents. This cherished reunion brings a sense of comfort to the hearts of her surviving family, knowing that her spirit continues to thrive in the love that connects them all.

Her legacy is one of love, selflessness, and unwavering support for those she cared for, leaving an indelible imprint on the hearts and lives of everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
