Ret. Sgt. 1St Class Jose Salas San Nicolas

Ret. Sgt. 1st Class Jose S. San Nicolas, 69, of Ft. Mitchell, AL, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm EST, on Friday, November 13, 2015, at Vance Memorial Chapel, with Father Dennis officiating. Interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery and the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.

Mr. San Nicolas was born on October 24, 1946, in Guam, the son of the late Joaquin P. San Nicolas and Rosario Salas San Nicolas. He was a decorated Veteran, serving 2 tours in Vietnam earning the Purple Heart. He was retired from Swift Denim and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Holy Trinity, AL. He was a loving husband, father and Pepa.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn C. San Nicolas; 6 children, Robert and Carol Vallejo, Joey and Misty San Nicolas, Michael and Rhonda San Nicolas, Eric and Shawn San Nicolas, Nicholas and Nicole San Nicolas and Jeanette and John Richardson; sister, Salona San Nicolas Duenas; 24 grandchildren, extended family members and many caring friends.
