Ret. SMSGT Cecil Thomas Reeves, 74, Columbus, GA, passed away January 24, 2014 in the comfort of his home. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 29, 2014 beginning at 11:00 A.M. at Frazier & Son Funeral Home, 1016 4th Ave. Rochelle, GA 31079. Interment will conclude at Christian Home Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home. Ret. SMSGT Cecil Thomas Reeves was born December 30, 1939 in Columbus, GA son of the late Thomas and Virginia Reeves. Cecil attended Wilcox Central High School, graduating in 1958, Top of his Class. He was voted “Most Intellectual” by his classmates . Cecil was passionate about his class reunions; he never missed a reunion and was always early, eager and excited to see his life-long friends and class mates. Cecil loved his coffee and diet coke, he often enjoyed these beverages while catching up with family and friends. After high school, Cecil served his country honorably for 28 years in the United States Air force. He was an SP serving in S.E. Asia during the Vietnam Conflict. His dedicated services awarded him “Airman of the Year” during this time; he was also drill team leader and marched in the Rose Bowl. Everyone, especially classmates loved him dearly. Survivors include his children, Vivian Hadley, of Sterling, CO, Mark Reeves, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Richard J. Reeves, of Ruidoso, New Mexico; sister, Ramona Dunnigan, of Killene, TX; brothers, Jerry Reeves, of Columbus, GA, Lewis Reeves, of OR; six grandchildren, Morgan Reeves, Matthew Reeves, Jacob Hadley, Samantha Hadley, Sonjia Hadley, and Presleigh Reeves. Cecil also leaves behind a very special friend, Gloria Wright, and many cousins from Georgia and Jacksonville, FL, all of whom loved him dearly. Cecil was always a hard worker and a very caring father, grandfather and brother, who will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
