Reverend Bobby G. Watford, 81, of Phenix City, Alabama, stepped through the gates of Heaven on Monday, October 31, 2022. Upon entering, His Master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM EST on Saturday, November 5, 2022, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, with Rev. Robb Goodman and Rev. Gary Hartman officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM EST at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.
Rev. Watford was born in Abbeville, Alabama, the son of the late Myrt H. Watford and Donie Palmer Watford. Prior to becoming an ordained minister, Rev. Watford proudly served his country in the United States Army. He then answered the call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and began attending bible college where he obtained his Degree in Biblical Study. Rev. Watford served as a pastor and bible teacher for over forty-five years in various churches. He was never ashamed to be a witness for the Lord. Rev. Watford was known for his gardening, cooking and baking abilities, which were enjoyed by many family, friends and church members. Above all, he treasured the moments he was able to spend with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great grandson.
Those left to cherish Rev. Watford’s memory is his wife of sixty years Dianna Thompson Watford; Daughters Felicia Watford of Ft. Mitchell, AL, Tamara Tetro and husband Trey of Columbus, GA and Kim Burkes and husband Shane of Phenix City, AL; son Bobby Lane Watford of Phenix City, AL; sister Danie Wright of Abbeville, AL; brothers Jimmy Watford and wife Pat of Dothan, AL, Bill Watford and wife Sherry of Mobile, AL and Jack Watford and wife Dinah of Headland, AL; grandchildren Lauren Harden (Heath), Nick Tetro (Nicole) and Madeline; great grandson Tyler Broadhurst and special grand-dog Tilly.
The family had requested in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to PAWS Humane Society or The Valley Rescue Mission in memory of Rev. Watford.
