Rev. David Shirley Hall

Rev. David Shirley Hall, 89, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, May 10, 2016 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 am EDT Friday, May 13, 2016 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery with Reverend Marvin Minton officiating.   The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at the Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City.

Mr. Hall was born February 9, 1927 in Warwick, GA to the late William Nathaniel Hall and Georgia Bass Hall.  Reverend Hall was a retired minister serving both in Georgia and Alabama for over 50 years.  He was a faithful member of Crawford Road Baptist Church.  He had served our country and was a Veteran of both the United States Army and the United States Air force.  He enjoyed reading his Bible, family time, and watching Braves baseball and boxing.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Phillips Hall, and eleven brothers and sisters.

Mr. Hall is survived by his daughter, Linda L. Frander of Phenix City, AL, son, David Michael “Mike” Hall and wife Gail of Smiths Station, AL

Six grandchildren, Angie Smith (Tim), Jason Hall (Beth), Rob Bankston (Bobbie), Jon Bankston, Shane Poole (Jenna) and Shannon Poole (Laura)

(10) Great grandchildren, Garrett, Hunter, Parker, Katie, Ryan, Ben, Eli, Wesley, Karlie, and Lexi, numerous other family members, church family and many caring friends.

Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to the Columbus Hospice House 7020 Moon Road Columbus, GA 31909.  The family is inviting everyone who would want to attend Reverend Hall service meet at Vance Memorial Chapel Friday morning by 10:15 am EDT to leave in procession to Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made at www.vancememorialchapel.net
