Rev. Jack Walter Kinley

Rev. Jack Walter Kinley, 96, of Phenix City, AL passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Covenant Woods Senior Living in Columbus, GA.  

A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon EST Monday, December 2, 2024, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Steve Faulk and Rev. Marvin Minton officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. 

Rev. Kinley was born on March 8, 1928 in Wilkinsburg, PA, son of the late Walter Raymond Kinley and Ruth Sayre Kinley. He proudly served in the United States Army and law enforcement for a few years before he began his journey in the ministry. Rev. Kinley pastored multiple churches for over 64 years in Florida, Mississippi, Georgia and Alabama. Additionally, he served as the Headmaster at Woodland Christian School from 1974 until 1980. His passion was ministry and he focused all of his energy on bible study and preaching. He also had a Vision Tape Ministry.  

Rev. Kinley is survived by a daughter, Judy Jay and husband Howard; a son, Gary Kinley and wife June; two sisters, Kathy Grgurich and husband Tim and Patty Bell and husband Donnie; a brother, Kenneth Kinley and wife Cathie; three grandchildren, Jason Jay (Ashley), Becky Scott (Brian) and Cory Kinley (Ashlyn); great-grandchildren, Lauren Jay, Harper Kinley, Lawson Kinley and Ruthie Kinley; as well as extended family, church family and friends.
