Rev. Jack Shelton Jones

Rev. Jack Shelton Jones, 81, of Phenix City, AL, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Gentiva Hospice in Columbus, GA.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon EDT, on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA, with Reverend Watson McKemie officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 pm EDT at Vance Memorial Chapel, Phenix City.

Rev. Jones was born on June 28, 1934, in Columbus, GA, the son of the late Murrell and Erma Jones. He was a US Veteran, having served in the US Air Force and retired as Associate Pastor from First Assembly of God Church in Griffin, GA. He enjoyed playing golf and attended First Assembly of God in Phenix City. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Cornelia Stone Jones, son, Bobby Jones and a brother, Ted Jones.

He is survived by his daughter, Debi Nix, husband Eddie of Phenix City, AL; 3 grandchildren, Lindsay Scott, Erin Jones, and Harris Jones; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and caring friends.
