Rev. John Albert Barr

Rev. John Albert Barr, 82, of West Point Lake, GA passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, GA. Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm EST Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Billy Ledbetter officiating. A private interment will follow on Thursday morning at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. Rev. Barr was born January 5, 1933 in Pike County, AL to the late Glenn F. Barr and Rose Lee Wesley Barr. He was retired from West Point Stevens and was a member of Pine Lake Chapel Baptist on Lake West Point, GA. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Perry Barr, step-sons, Charles Bundy and Carl Bundy and a grandson, Eric. He is survived by a daughter, Mary Stewart and husband Adrian of Phenix City, AL and a son, Rev. Robert McKenzie and wife Barbara of Spring Hill, TN, sisters, Mary Gertrude Daniels of Chicago, IL and Jeanette Race of Panama City, FL, (12) grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and many other loving family members.
