Reverend Olen Smith, 84, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, Georgia.

A Celebration of Reverend Olen Smith’s Life will be held at 12:00 PM EST, Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N, Phenix City, Alabama, with Reverend Michael Greer officiating. The interment and committal service will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the beginning of the service at 12:00 pm, at the Funeral Home.

Reverend Smith was born on December 3, 1936, in Coffee County, Alabama, the son of Grady L Smith and Eolen Wilson Smith. He retired from Southern Phenix Textiles as Fixer Supervisor. Reverend Smith was a devout Christian and member of The New Hope Full Gospel Church of Phenix City. He was a good provider for his family and lived life to it’s fullest. Olen enjoyed growing his garden, traveling with his wife, meeting new people, and playing with his many grandchildren. He taught his children to be patient, non-judgmental, and love unconditionally. Reverend Olen Smith will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and servant of God.

He is preceded in death by his father, Grady L Smith; mother, Eolen Smith; brother, Coley Smith; and sister, Dorothy McKenzie; .

He is survived by his loving wife, Katreen Newman Smith; daughters, Eunice Boutwell, Tracy (Roy) Johnson, Tina (Gary) Robinson, Jane Holmes, and Sherry (Ron) Fabel; sons, Jerry O (Chrollett) Smith, Phil (Samantha) Fuqua, Jerry (Penny) Senn, and Lamar Seacat ;sisters, Betty Mavlden, Mary Faulkner, and Brenda (James) Baker; a multitude of grandchildren, and great grandchildren; as well as several extended family and caring friends.
