Reverend Warren Julius Owens, 90, of Columbus, GA, passed away peacefully June 29, 2014. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 2, 2014 beginning at 2:00 P.M. EST, at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. 31907. Reverend David Howel will be officiating. The family will conclude with a private interment at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday July 1, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. EST, at the funeral home. Warren Julius Owens was born February 23, 1924 in Noma, FL, son of the late Reddick Dawson Owens and Pearlie Brown Owens. Warren was employed by the Muscogee County School System. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. Other than his parents Mr. Owens is preceded in death by his previous wife Shirley Owens; son Rickey Owens; daughter Debra Lynn Owens; sister, Ouida Owens Ketchum; brother, Ivey Owens; and grandson, Adam Owens. Survivors include Warrens devoted wife of 41 years, Ann Owens of Columbus, GA; daughters, Lisa Ann Owens of Phenix City, AL; Kay Martin and husband Larry of Columbus, GA; sons, Tex Warren Owens of Phenix City, AL, Johnnie Owens and wife Marol of Columbus, GA, Teddy Owens and wife Sharon of Smiths Station, AL, Gary Owens and wife Connie of Conway, South Carolina, Rodney Owens and wife Sandy of Phenix City AL, Terry Justice and wife Michelle of Waverly Hall, GA; grandchildren, Mandie, Preston, Sonja, Cassandra, Jared, Rickey, Lori, Christie, John Brown, Heather Avery, and Dean Justice; Warren also leaves behind fourteen great-grandchildren.
