Richard Carl King, Sr

Richard Carl King, Sr., 76, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at his home while surrounded by his loved ones.  A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home on Friday, August 26, 2016 beginning at 3:00 P.M. EST, with the Reverend Skip Speed officiating.  The interment will conclude the service at Parkhill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. EST.  

Mr. King was born June 24, 1940 in Newnan, GA to the parents of the late Roy Cornelius King and Thadde Bell Summerlin King.  He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.  He served his country proudly in the United States Marines.  He retired as a banker after working thirty-three years in the industry, of which twenty-three were with First National Bank and ten were with Sun Trust Bank.

Other than his parents, Mr. King is predeceased by his loving wife, Sarah Lynette Molton King; a brother, Robert Guy King, Sr.; two sisters:  Joyce King and Miriam Jean King Gilliland.

Survivors include a daughter, Natalie King Davis of Smiths Station, AL; a son, Richard C. King, Jr. (Kathy) of Phenix City, AL; and three grandchildren:  Georgia N. King, Caroline G. King, and Bennett K. Davis.
