Richard D “Richie” Dileonardo

September 26, 1965 — June 16, 2021

Richard “Richie” Duane DiLeonardo, 55, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Piedmont Columbus Regional-Midtown in Columbus, Georgia. Richie was born on September 26, 1965, in Columbus, Georgia.
Memorial Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Vance Brooks Funeral Home- 3738 Hwy N, Phenix City, Alabama with Reverend Ricky Ward officiating.
Richie was baptized in 1984 at Midway Baptist Church in Valley, Alabama and had been attending Grace Freewill Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama most recently.
Justin Cronin wrote in his novel, The Twelve, “As long as we remember a person they’re not really gone.” That is true of Richie and the memories we will forever hold of him. He was known for his quality appliance installation/repairs as the owner and operator of Riverside Appliance for 26 years. He was a hard-working individual and genuinely enjoyed his conversations with customers. Above all else, Richie loved his family more than anything. He never missed a birthday, holiday, or special event. He was a sentimental man and cherished the little things in life such as hearing his children and grandchildren laugh and play. He enjoyed the outdoors, Georgia football, riding ATV’s, playing pool and spending quality time with friends and family.
One of the things his children remember most about him is how he taught them to be proud of who they were, stand up for what they believe in, always do the right thing, and love one another. He will always be remembered as a loving Dad, PaPa and friend
Richie is preceded in death by, Father, Lewis Duane DiLeonardo, Mother Frances DiLeonardo and Brother, Duane DiLeonardo.
He is survived by three sons, John (Heather) DiLeonardo, Joseph (Shiela) DiLeonardo, Patrick (Melissa) DiLeonardo; Daughter, Taylor Lane DiLeonardo; Two sisters, Margie DiLeonardo and Toni DiLeonardo; Four Granddaughters, Lynlee DiLeonardo, Josie DiLeonardo, Aria DiLeonardo and Railey Basart; Two Grandsons, Lane DiLeonardo and Landin Smith; as well as extended family and caring friends.
