Richard E. Harrison, Jr. age 59, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Piedmont Midtown Columbus Medical Center. Memorial services are scheduled the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, 4 p.m (EST). The family will receive friends at the funeral home after the service on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 until 6 p.m.
Richard, son of the late Richard Edmond Harrison, Sr. and Betty Sue Wright Davis, was born February 16, 1962 in Columbus, Georgia. He worked many years in the automobile industry, most recently served as a General Manager. Richard loved his family immensely, particularly his grandbabies. He loved to grill for family and friends; was an avid Georgia Tech football and Philadelphia Phillies fan; and looked forward to taking trips to Florida for spring baseball training camps.
Richard enjoyed swimming, listening to all types of music, and watching some of his favorite television shows, specifically Two and a Half Men and Yellowstone.
The family remembers Richard as a very giving, selfless, hardworking, and big hearted man.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his uncles, Rudy Wright and Billy Wright; aunt, Brenda Wright; and step-father, Carroll Wright.
Richard is survived by two sons, Ryan Harrison and his wife Ashley of Phenix City, and Brad Harrison also of Phenix City; four grandchildren, Abrey Harrison, Chandler Harrison, Ellie Harrison, and Brylee Scarborough; his girlfriend, Marcella Rayfield of Auburn, Alabama; aunt, Glenda Wright of Columbus, Georgia; cousins, Ricky Horne of Columbus and Robin White of Smiths Station, Alabama; many other cousins; relatives; and friends.
