Richard Eugene Morgan Sr.

Richard Eugene Morgan, Sr., 83, of Ellerslie, GA passed away Sunday, October 01, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.  A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Wednesday, October 04, 2017 beginning at 3:00 P.M. EST.  The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  

Mr. Morgan was born September 15, 1934 in Chattahoochee County, GA to the late Raphael David Morgan, Sr. and Evie Berniece Kemp.  Mr. Morgan served in the United States Navy and was also self-employed and owned a small engine repair service.  He loved to sing and make people laugh and never met a stranger.

Other than his parents, Mr. Morgan is predeceased by his sister, Catherine Willis.

Survivors include his ex-wife and mother of his children, Jan Morgan; ex-wife, Wanda Morgan; a daughter, Misty Morgan Webb (Stuart) of Columbus, GA; two sons:  Gene Morgan (ex-wife, Trudy) of Atlanta, GA and Scott Morgan (Sharon) of Hamilton, GA; four sisters:  Nita Quinn, Sara Ginn, JoAnn Hart, Libba Pierce; two brothers:  Junior Morgan and JT Morgan; and six grandchildren:  Dillon Morgan, Hunter Morgan, Cooper Morgan, Ben Morgan, Morgan Webb and Drew Webb.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA  31909.
