Richard “Richie” Donnell Griffin, Jr.

Richard “Richie” Donnell Griffin, Jr., 53, of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday morning, October 19, 2023, in the comfort of his home in Phenix City.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am EST on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Ben Hewitt officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, one hour prior to the memorial service, at the funeral home in Phenix City. A private interment will be held at a later date by his loving family.
Richie was born October 10, 1970, in Columbus, GA, son of Richard Donnell Griffin, Sr. and the late Jennifer Wiley Edwards. He had worked in residential and commercial construction for many years and enjoyed the many opportunities it provided. He loved all sorts of sports and especially enjoyed playing softball. He was a huge fan of NASCAR and loved watching and cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his children, Ashley Vinyard and husband Adam, Amanda Johnson and husband James, Bryce Griffin, and Nicolas Riley; sister, Kimberly Hipple and husband Robert; brother, Michael Griffin; three precious grandchildren, Rhett Vinyard, Rowan Johnson, and Linda Pearl; stepchildren, Blake, Ryan, Alexis, and Benji, numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, extended family, and many caring friends.
