Richard Robert Rowell

Richard Robert Rowell, 67, of Columbus, GA passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus.  A memorial service will be scheduled in Cherokee, North Carolina and announced at a later date. 

Mr. Rowell was born May 12, 1950 in Avon Park, FL to the late Gordon Rowell, Jr. and Myra Ruth Welch Rowell.  He was head of the information technology department at Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee, NC.  He loved rebuilding, modifying and repairing computers.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger.  He also loved his fur-babies:  Shan, Ziva, and Tony.

Other than his parents, Mr. Rowell is predeceased by his brother, James Gordon Rowell.

Survivors include two sisters:  Penny Moores (Ricky) and Peggy Rowell, both of Columbus, GA; and three nieces:  Holly Rowell, Brittany Moores and Terri Moores, both of Columbus, GA.
