Rick Owens Edmunds

Rick Owens Edmunds, 77, of Phenix City, AL passed away Tuesday afternoon on August 2, 2023, in the comfort of his home in Phenix City.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm EDT on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Ismael Valle officiating. A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home in Phenix City.
Rick was born February 14, 1946, in Columbus, GA, son of the late Ben Edmunds and Sara Louise Lane Edmunds. He was self-employed as a painter working in both residential and commercial construction. His passion was his work along with his attitude reflecting the quality of his job. He loved tinkering with different projects and had a deep appreciation for completed projects. He was a member of Oasis Christian Center in Smiths Station.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Thacker Crews Edmunds and a brother, Steve Edmunds.
He is survived by his daughters, Kim Huckaby-Sykes and husband Tommy, and Heather Sobkowiak and companion Paul Fenner; one brother, Rock Edmunds and wife Sharon; sister-in-law, Bobbie Edmunds; five grandchildren, Courtney Huckaby and companion Landon Fraker, Caleb Huckaby, Cailey Huckaby, Owen Sobkowiak, and Sarah Sobkowiak; two precious great grandchildren, Denver Huckaby and Aspen Huckaby; nephew, Benjamin Edmunds and wife Patty; numerous extended family members, church family and many caring friends.
