Ricky C Bess

Ricky C Bess, 57, of Opelika, AL passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 in the comfort of his home with his wife by his side.

Funeral services will be held 6:00 pm Wednesday evening, March 8, 2017 at Cascade Hills Church in Columbus with Rev. Skip Speed officiating.  A private interment will be held with his family.  The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 pm EST at Cascade Hills Church.

Ricky was born January 19, 1960 in Phenix City, AL to the late Hosea C. Bess and June Bradshaw Bess.  He was employed with All Crane of Georgia and was a member of Cascade Hills Church in Columbus, GA.  He also was a member of the Crawford Mason Lodge and the Phenix City Shriners.  He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and was huge Alabama Crimson Tide fan.  His passion was his Christian faith, and his opportunity to witness for the Lord.  He loved his family dearly, his church, and his many friendships.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Suzanne “Sue” DeLoach Bess, daughter, Kristi Nichole “Niki” Oyster and husband Chad, sister, Linda Hill and husband Mike, step-brothers, Tim Bess, and Jamie Bess and wife Tracy, two precious grandchildren, Olivia and Sophia, father-in-law, Jay DeLoach, mother-in-law, Betty J. Hammock and husband Richard, brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick DeLoach, Sonja Crum and husband Robert, Beth Tucker and husband Mike, and C. L. Regan and wife Lisa, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and many caring friends.  Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to the What Ever it Takes fund at Cascade Hills Church.  Online condolences may be shared at www.vancememorialchapel.net
