Mrs. Robbie Maurice Bowen

Robbie Maurice Vickers Bowen, 94, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully early Friday morning, February 10, 2017 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EST Monday, February 13, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Grant Parker officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bowen was born November 28, 1922 in Wadley, AL to Sidney Jackson Vickers and Maude Waller Vickers.  She was retired from Eagle and Phenix Mills with many years of service.  She was also a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whom was deeply devoted to her family.  She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, visiting and fellowshipping with friends, and in her earlier years enjoyed taking care of baby’s for young parents, and then in her later years enjoyed sitting with the elderly.  She was a longtime faithful member of North Phenix Baptist Church in Phenix City.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Calvin Pate Bowen, one sister, Mary Comfort Vickers Spruille, and two brothers, Sidney Jackson Vickers, and Milford Kirk.

She is survived by her children, Robbie Jean Bowen McDuffie and husband Eddie of Atlanta, GA, Cathy Bowen Self and husband Jimmie of Salem, AL, and Jimmy Pate Bowen and wife Jeanie of Bainbridge, GA; (6) grandchildren, Marcie Perkins (Gary), Justin Self (Melissa), Christina Louge (Justin), Christopher Bowen (Laura), Samantha Barnwell, and Patrick McDuffie (Joann), (6) great grandchildren, Tyler, Nathan, Everitt, Sophie, Dillon, and Ivy Leigh, numerous other loving family members and many caring friends.  Online condolences may be shared at www.vancememorialchapel.net
