Robbie June Freeman

Robbie “June” Loyd Freeman, 95, of Columbus, GA passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at St Francis Hospital with close family and friends. A funeral service will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Saturday, October 12, 2024 beginning at 11:00 am with Pastor Paul Thomas officiating. The interment will conclude at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 

June was born on June 16, 1929 in Slocomb, AL to the late Eddie and Bessie Loyd. She was a beautiful lady with a heart of gold. Throughout her life, June’s passion was to lead as many people as she could to the Lord. Her love for people was reflected in her work as a beautician, her dedication as a wife and mother, and her servant’s heart as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. She loved people, and people loved her. June will be dearly missed by her family, friends, caregivers and Evangel Church family, but her memory will continue to bring a smile to all whose lives she touched. 

 Other than her parents, June is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years Harlin Freeman, daughter Wanda Grimes, son-in-law Kenneth Grimes, sister Jean L. Loyd and grandson Jason Grimes. Survivors include her niece Gail Ogburn Stills and her husband Ronnie, nephew Michael Steven Ogburn, multiple great nieces and nephews, her faithful caregivers Peggy Kite, Tracy Davis and Cyndi Bradshaw, Pastor Paul Thomas and many other friends at church.
