Robbie Sue Slappey

Robbie Sue Ray Slappey, 77, of Smiths Station, AL, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EST, on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Philadelphia Baptist Chruch, with Rev. Skip Speed officiating. A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm EST at Vance Memorial Chapel, Phenix City, AL.

Mrs. Slappey was born on December 8, 1940 in Decatur, AL daughter of the late Robert Taft Ray and Norella Walls Ray.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Mrs. Slappey was also a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church for over 60 years.  She established both the Mother’s Day Out program and Special Buddies at Philadelphia Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband Charles Russell Slappey of Smiths Station, AL; a daughter, Carmen Reeves and husband Danny of Phenix City, AL ; two sons, Greg Slappey and wife Kelli of Salem, AL and Keith Slappey and wife Mandy of Smiths Station, AL; grandchildren, Adam and Joshua Reeves, Trevor and Taylor Slappey and Leah, Dean and Daylee Slappey; great-grandson, Brayden Holland and many caring friends and church family.
