Robert W. "Bob" Jewell, Msg, Usa(Ret)

Robert W. “Bob” Jewell, MSG, USA (Ret), 78, of Ft. Mitchell, AL passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at his home after a long battle with leukemia.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am EST, on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Oswichee Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:30 am EST before the service. Mr. Jewell will be buried at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery following the service.

Mr. Jewell was born December 20, 1938 in Union City, PA to late Harold Warren Jewell and Dorothy Jean Jewell Gregory. He proudly served in the US Navy and the US Army before he retired with over 26 years of service. He married Barbara in 1958 and they raised three children as he served his country. After retiring, he began working for the Phenix City School System for another 11 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, woodworking, and traveling with his wife in their RV. He was a member and Deacon at Oswichee Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Fred Jewell.

He is survived by his wife Barbara A. Jewell; 3 children, David D. Jewell, Daniel W. Jewell(Shirley) and Cynthia A. Dentler; brother, James Jewell; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; many extended family members and caring friends.
