Robert Earl “Bobby” Green

SSG (Ret) Robert “Bobby” Earl Green, 64, of Smiths Station, AL died peacefully while at Bill Nicholas Veterans Home, Alexander City, AL on Saturday, March 04, 2023.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Thursday, March 09, 2023 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Jeff Dravenstott officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM (EST) till the funeral hour at the funeral home on Thursday.

Mr. Green was born December 12, 1958 in Monroeville, AL son of the late Vera Mae Green Waters. He proudly served in the U. S. Army, was a Gulf War veteran and retired after 20 years of service. After his military career, Bobby began working on Main Post as an Ammunition Specialist with APTIUM. He enjoyed golfing, reading, and playing Trivial Pursuit.  Bobby was also a very active member of Midway Baptist Church where he served in various ministries. One ministry in particular was helping to collecting aluminum cans for missions. His two grandchildren were the center of his world, and he loved being with them any chance he could. We will miss him and the joy his presence brought to us, but we know he is now safe in Heaven.

Mr. Green was preceded in death by his mother, Vera Mae Waters; a sister, Marie Ann Waters and son, Thomas Green.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Green, Smiths Station, AL; two sisters, Elizabeth Hardee, Excel, AL and Brenda Kay Waters, Mobile, AL; one brother, Charles Robert Waters, Mexia, AL; ex-wife, Christine Green, Columbus, GA; two special grandchildren, Brennon and Trenton Pierce Smiths Station, AL; and one bonus grandson, Adrian Amezquita, Columbus, GA; several nieces, nephews and friends.
