Robert Olon Fuqua

Robert Olon Fuqua, 83, of Seale, AL passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 22, 2016 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus, GA.  Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at the funeral home in Columbus.

Mr. Fuqua was born June 4, 1933 in Clayton, AL to the late Seymore Fuqua and Nellie E. McCraine Fuqua.  He was retired from Sunshine Biscuits in Columbus, GA with over 40 years of service.  He enjoyed people, family, fishing, working, and gardening.  He was a Baptist by faith.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Nell Miles Fuqua, and one brother, George Fuqua.

He is survived by two sisters, Annie Evelyn Bishop, and Betty Jean Calloway, one brother, John Allen Fuqua.  Mr. and Mrs. Fuqua did not have any children, but numerous nieces and nephews whom they loved as their own.  He also is survived by his many co-workers at Sunshine, and many, many friends.
