Robert “Scott” Taylor

Robert “Scott” Taylor, age 61 of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully early Sunday morning on January 29, 2023 in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving family.

Scott was born September 14, 1961 in Phenix City, AL and is the son of Ralphton “Ralph” C. Taylor, III and Brenda Cleo Barbaree Taylor.  He was a native of the Phenix City-Russell County community.   He was the owner and operator of Taylor’s Rivertown Gallery for 20 years.  He had a big heart for nature and was blessed to be gifted to transpose such beauty by his abilities of creating art and paintings.  Scott enjoyed camping, fishing, and outdoor activities.  He served our country faithfully and was a Veteran of the United States Navy.  He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending precious times with all who surrounded him.  He was a Baptist by faith.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Lance Taylor, a niece, Madeline Taylor, and his grandparents, Ralphton C. Taylor, II and Mary Estelle Edwards Taylor, and Robert M. Barbaree and Mamie Cleo Barbaree.

He is survived by his parents, Ralph and Brenda Taylor of Phenix City, AL; sons, Jacob Taylor and wife Alexa, and Joshua Spencer, both of Columbus, GA; one sister, Kim Taylor Hicks and husband Dean of Upatoi, GA; one precious grandson, Aiden Taylor; nephews, Chance Hicks, Carson Hicks, and Dakota Hiers; and numerous extended loving family members and many friends.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm EST on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Crawford Cemetery in Phenix City, AL with Pastor Don Abrams officiating.  The family will receive friends at the graveside service on Saturday at Crawford Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions to the American Legion Post 135 on Broad Street in Phenix City, or Trinity United Methodist Church in Phenix City.
