Roberto Diaz Tovar Sr.

Mr. Roberto Diaz Tovar, Sr., 68, of Phenix City, AL died at his residence on Sunday, July 12, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Saturday, July 18, 2020 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Fr. Gerald Gonzales officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will have a closed viewing from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM (EST) on Friday at the funeral home, for family members only.

The family is requesting all attending to please wear a face mask, gloves, and practice social distancing. The family appreciates all your condolence’s and asks please do not hug, kiss, or shake hands during the services. Thank you in advance!!

Mr. Tovar was born November 16, 1951 in Jalisco, Mexico son of Jose Tovar and the late Marie Jesus Diaz Tovar. He was a Foreman at JVL Laboratories for many years. Roberto loved Mariachi, dancing, being the “Life of the party” and enjoying family and friends. We will remember him as a loving husband, son, father, brother, friend and always being happy. He will be deeply missed as his time with us was too short. Thank you for all the good memories that we will always cherish in our hearts.

Survivors other than his father, Jose Tovar, include his wife, Maria Josefina Perez Tovar, Phenix City, AL; four children, Roberto Diaz Tovar, Jr., Juan Diaz Tovar, Nancy Tovar, and Kevin Perez Popcatl; five brothers, Isidro Tovar, Antonio Tovar, Mario Tovar, Arturo Tovar and Ruben Tovar; four sisters, Maria Manjarrez, Olivia Jimenez, Carmen Fregoso and Lola Roybal; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and close friends also survive.
