Mr. Ron L. Holt

Mr. Ron L. Holt, 78, of Salem, AL passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.

A private graveside service will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bud Passmore and Rev. Curt Mize officiating.

Mr. Holt was born September 1, 1943 in TN, son of the late Durwood L. Holt and Laura Catherine Smith Holt.  He owned and operated his business, Ron’s Marine Service for over 20 years.  Mr. Holt was known as a handy man, who could fix virtually anything.  He was a long time member of Concord Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Martha Ann Hearn Holt; two daughters, Rhonda Ann Freeman and husband Carky of Salem, AL and Tami Michelle Hussey and husband Sandy of Salem, AL; a son, Matthew Jason Shawn Holt of Columbus, GA; two sisters, Diane Belton of Valley, AL and Sandra Willis and husband Randall of Opelika, AL; a brother, Steve Holt and wife Rejene of Beulah, AL; grandchildren, Caleb Holt Freeman (Kimberly), Kindell Nicole Anderson (Daniel), Chad Nicholas Hussey (Taylor) and Matthew Ethan Holt; great-grandchildren, Harper Claire Anderson, Ridge Preston Anderson and Lillian Skye Williams Freeman; several other extended family, church family and friends.
