Rosa Lee Cook

Rosa Lee Cook, 87, of Columbus, GA passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at her residence.  A funeral service will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Preston Parker officiating.  A private interment will conclude at Parkhill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday, August 12, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Rosa was born on November 21, 1931 in Buena Vista, GA to the late Wesley and Thelma Jordan.  She attended Victory Independent Baptist Church.  As a homemaker, wife, and mother, Rosa poured love into everything she did for her family.   Whether it was baking, canning, gardening or sewing, she always made sure the needs of those around her were met.  As her family grew, Rosa’s giving spirit and gentle touch were once again evident when caring for her grandchildren.  This was one of her greatest pleasures in life.  Rosa will be greatly missed by her family, church family, and friends, but she will always hold a special place in their hearts. 

Other than her parents, Rosa is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Dewitt C. Cook; sons, Phillip Cook and Roger Allen Cook; and sisters, Helen Downer and Brenda McDonald.

Survivors include her daughter, Denise Harris of Columbus, GA; sons, Mike Cook of Columbus, GA and Barry Cook (Amy) of Fortson, GA; sister, Mary Heiken of Bartlesville, OK; brothers, Walter Jordan and Donald Jordan, both of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Christina Gorman, Matthew Carden, Keri Davis, Joshua Davis, Barry Cook, Nikki O’Brien, Stephen Cook, Sean Cook, and Krista Gibson; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and church friends.
