Rosemarie Dykes, 90, of Columbus, GA passed away August 8, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EDT on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Beallwood Baptist Church in Columbus with Rev. David Mills officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday at the church in Columbus. The family will hold a private committal at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.
Mrs. Dykes was born July 2, 1934, in Santa Maria, CA, daughter of the late Joseph Ramalho and Mary Teixeira Ramalho. She retired from Lee Drugs in Columbus, GA after many years of service.
While participating in league bowling, Rose met Cecil at the Peach Bowl Lane in Columbus Ga. It was love at first strike. They were married at a family gathering in 1996. She enjoyed traveling, dining out, card and board games, family gatherings, and picking and grinning at the Phenix City Civic Center. She was a long-time member of Beallwood Baptist Church in Columbus, GA
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by brothers, Edward and Wilfred Ramalho; sister, Eleanor Ramalho; daughter, Annette Waters and sister-in-law, Leola Dykes Wilks.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Cecil Dykes; daughter, Karen Jones; son, Geoffrey Dyer; son-in-law, Philip Waters; three grandchildren, Alexander (Carlie) Santiago, Jessica (Nicholas) Daniels, and Haley Dyer; five precious great-grandchildren, Grace, Luke, Callie, Ava, and Bria; great-great-grandson Liam; several nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and many caring friends.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beallwood Baptist Church or Columbus Hospice
