Rosie Mae Highsmith

Rosie Mae Highsmith, 84, Columbus, GA, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Magnolia Manor. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday July 10, 2015 beginning at 10:00 A.M. EST at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, 31907. Reverend Kenneth Savage will be officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. EST at the funeral home. Rosie Mae Highsmith was born August 20, 1930 in Gay, GA, daughter of the late John Manley and Eva Taylor Manley. She was employed by Swift Textile, working her whole life for her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Other than her parents Rosie is preceded in death by the father of her children William O. Shiver; her husband Tommy R. Highsmith, daughter, Gail Keil; grandson, Ladon Lerma Shiver. Survivors include her sons, William E. Shiver, of Columbus, GA, Ladon Shiver, of FL, and Ronnie Shiver (Mary) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren Robert Mount, Franchesca Shiver and five other grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; Rosie is also survived by many loving extended family members and caring friends.
