Mr. Roy T. Hutto

Mr. Roy T. Hutto, 92, of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

A private funeral service will be held Monday, December 21, 2020 with Rev. F. L. “Bubba” Copeland and Dr. David White officiating.  The service may be viewed virtually Monday at 2:00 pm on the Phenix City First Baptist Church Facebook page.  Visitation, without the family present, will be held Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL.

Mr. Hutto was born May 21, 1928 son of the late William Grady Hutto and Willie Belle Abbott Hutto.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.  After his service, he spent over 20 years in the automotive business and finished his career as an insurance agent for Life of Georgia.  Mr. Hutto’s favorite hobby was walking and talking with his friends at Idle Hour Park.  He was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL and he dearly loved his church.  Mr. Hutto was one of the oldest active deacons at the church.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Hill Hutto and a son, Michael Royce Hutto.

He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Hutto of Columbus, GA and Donna Moulton and husband Cliff of Phenix City, AL; a son, William Roy Hutto of Phenix City, AL and wife Gail of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Kristin Barber (Christopher), Kimberly Franklin (J. R.), Cassidy Stecenko (David), Ashley Baker (Derek), Jay Moulton (Kaitlin), Brian Hutto (Elane) and Jonathan Hutto (Khristi); 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild, as well as, extended family, church family and friends.
