Roy “Paul” Barefoot, 66, of Salem, AL passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held 1:30 pm EDT Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City, AL. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral service on Thursday. Mr. Barefoot was born November 23, 1948 in Troy, AL to Gladys Lewis Barefoot and the late Roy Pershing Barefoot. He had worked as a supervisor at Dolly Madison in Columbus, GA and served our country as a Veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed reading, computer research, fishing, and family time. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Keith Barefoot. He is survived by his mother, Gladys Lewis Barefoot of Phenix City, AL, his loving wife of 48 years, Patsy Ann Britt Barefoot of Salem, AL; two sons, Drake Barefoot and wife Lynn of Wetumpka, AL, and Bradley Barefoot of Orlando, FL, two sisters, Angie McLain of Columbus, GA, and Wendy Gorski of Smiths Station, AL, one brother, Kenneth Barefoot and wife Rebecca of Smiths Station, AL. (4) grandchildren, Christopher Barefoot, whom he raised and loved like a son, Brittani Barefoot, Brandon Barefoot, and Kendal Synder, (1) great grandson, Levi Parker Barefoot, and host of nieces and nephews.
