Ruby Pearl Ford

Ruby Pearl Ford, 80, of Phenix City, Alabama, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, Georgia, while surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral Services for Ms. Ford will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 11, 2020, at VanceBrooks Funeral Home located at 3738 Highway 431 North Phenix City, AL, with Rev. Forrest Gillens officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
Ms. Ford was born in Childersburg, AL, the daughter of the late Richard Franklin Benefield and Lilly Mae Gentry Benefield. Ms. Ford worked until retirement with Buffalo Rock at Swift Mills in Columbus, GA. She enjoyed reading and quiet times. Ms. Ford loved serving her Lord at The Church of God Phenix City where she was the only remaining charter member. Ruby’s most treasured possessions were her grandchildren and family which kept a smile on her face all the time!
In addition to her parents, Ms. Ford was preceded in death by one son Phillip Ford; two grandsons Casey Ford and Justin Ford; three sisters and seven brothers.
Ms. Ford is survived by one daughter Kim Gann (Sammy) of Phenix City, AL; two sons Stephen “Steve” Ford and Frank Ford (Margaret) of Phenix City, AL; one sister Naomi Smith (Carroll) of Rockford, AL; one brother Charles Benefield (Pat) of Sylacauga, AL; several  grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a Heartfelt Thank You Shaunte Scott, her granddaughter, for her loyalty and devotion to being Ms. Ford’s primary caretaker for several years. Also to the staff of Columbus Hospice for going the extra mile in the caretaking of Ms. Ford.
