Ruth Thomas Adams Wilson

Ruth Thomas Adams Wilson, 75, of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Gentiva Hospice at Franciscan Woods in Columbus, GA.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm EST, Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating. A procession will be leaving Vance Memorial Chapel at 2:00 pm before the service. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00 pm EST at Vance Memorial Chapel, Phenix City, AL.

Mrs. Wilson was born March 2, 1941 in Laura Hill, FL, daughter of the late Otis Thomas and Irene Harris Thomas. She owned and operated Ruth’s Beauty Shoppe for over 20 years and was a member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Steve Adams and 3 brothers, John, Sanford and Douglas Thomas.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Charles Denton Wilson; 4 sons, Larry Adams of Salem, AL, Paul Adams (Pam) of Beauregard, AL, Billy Wilson (Brook) of Phenix City, AL and Brandon Adams (Laurie) of Phenix City, AL; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several extended family members and church family.
